In His Presence

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Psalms 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

I often talk and pray with people who seemed to have lost their joy. I know what that is like and also know that it doesn’t have to be that way. This is absolutely not God’s will for His children. His will is for His children to be joyful and strong in Him. Psalm 16 declares that in His presence is fullness of joy, in other words you can not have any more joy than when you are in the presence of God. Your glass will be 100% full. This can and will happen only in His presence, no where else.

Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

When you are down and depressed you are not full of joy are you? You are also not in His presence in that state, for you can not be in His presence and also be down and out at the same time. These things will not and can not co exist. They are opposites. Just like light and darkness are opposites, life and death are opposites, love and hate are opposites, joy and depression are opposites as well. God is always life, God is always light, God is always love, and in His presence is fullness of joy. I tell people all the time we have a choice to make, we have a part to play in these things.

Consider this, it takes your will to get into His presence. It is a choice we each have to make. I would also like to say He has given us this privilege of choice.

It will not happen watching television. I’m not saying it’s wrong to watch television, I’m saying that’s not where you are going to get in the presence of God. See my point? This is our choice. In His presence is also the place where we receive His strength. When you have God’s joy you also have God’s strength. They always go together. They can not be separated. “In Your presence is fullness of joy, and, the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

It is easy in today’s fast paced world to be distracted from the things that are most important. There are so many things that can distract us from the most important thing, too many things. We have to make choices all the time as to what is the most important thing of all. We get to the place where we need to stop everything and set time aside and get into the presence of our Heavenly Father. I am not just talking about Christian services, I’m talking about setting aside our time to have fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

We shouldn’t let things get so out of focus in our Christian walk before we realize that, heh, I need to prioritize my life, it’s out of control. However it often takes a rude awakening to get us to that point doesn’t it?

There should be time set-aside for worship, prayer and studying the word. This time should be something we have got to guard diligently. We are no good to ourselves or to anybody else if we don’t. We have to make the choice to eliminate some of the chatter and conflicts that come our way. I know this is not always an easy thing to do but we have to start somewhere. I have found that many times when I go to spend time in the Word of God, many distractions will come to my mind. The grass needs cuttings, the dishes need to be done etc. These things will bombard your mind the second you start to spend time in the Word or prayer. It never fails. I realize there are things that are necessary and need to be done, however there are also things that are not necessary but are sent to distract us from the things we truly need to do in order to fulfill and accomplish the will of God. We have to know and discern the difference, and make the right choice when the time comes.

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

These things that God’s Word says are lawful can also bring us under their power if we let them. These things may be necessary but they don’t have to dominate us do they?
We don’t have to let them! Let’s keep them in their place.

Many of these distractions are self-inflicted so to speak. A lack of organization many times allows chaos to rule instead of order. God’s Word teaches us that He is a God of order, and that is so true. He is not a God of disorder. Everything He does has divine order and purpose. Solomon has a lot to say about these things in the book of Ecclesiastes. Lets look at chapter 3…

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: 2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; 3. a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4. a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5. a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6. a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; 7. a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8. a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

There is divine order in everything God does and we should be no different. When we walk in His wisdom and understanding we can begin to understand the importance of these things, and begin to flow in them. We will find that as we do this very thing we will also begin to flow more readily in the things of God as well. This will greatly benefit us in our Christian walk, as it will allow us to see more clearly the things God has for us to do. In other words it will eliminate many of the distractions in our life. That in itself makes our lives less chaotic. This has got to be the first step in focusing in on the most important thing. We can not walk in peace and chaos at the same time. The two do no co exist.

After we eliminate the distractions and disorder we can begin to fully focus in on Him.

I have found that it is hard to stay focused in a cluttered room. We have to spend the time to get things organized and keep them that way. Our time is a very valuable resource. We have to guard it. There is a Christian song that says something like; we only have so many times to fly around the sun. That is such a true statement, when we waste our time because of our own self induced chaos, we have given away something we can never get back. Let’s make our time here count. We will all have to give account someday for what we have done with our time here on the Earth.

1 Peter 1:17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning here in fear;

I know that I have wasted so much time during my life that I can never get back. I can’t undo the past but I can change the future. Don’t waste time lamenting the past. That does no good anyway. Repent if you have to and start fresh. We can make the future count. Make the choice to start now and seek the most important thing. Get rid of the clutter in your life and focus in on the things that really count.

I have found that many people think going to church or doing some type of community service is doing their Christian duty, yet service in and of itself is not ever going to take the place of a personal intimate communion with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Service is an honorable thing but it should be an end result of our faith, not a substitute for our faith or our worship. I hope you take my meaning in this. As James said…

James 2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

When we are full of joy and God’s strength, our works will be an overflowing of our faith and not an attempt to prove our faith, or to ease a guilty conscious.

God’s Word has many examples of people who have made the choice to seek to be in His presence. At the right time they made the right choice. When it really counted they were able to focus on the most important thing. We can see how they were highlighted in the Word of God and stood out from all the others around them. These examples were put there to show us the better way.

Do you remember Mary and Martha in the Gospels, the two sisters of Lazerous, the one whom Jesus raised from the dead?

Luke 10:38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41. And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42. “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Martha was busy serving, or as the Word says Martha was distracted with much serving. Yet on the other hand her sister Mary was not serving at all, Jesus was not the least bit concerned that Mary was not up serving, was He? Jesus said something that I would like to take note of. He said “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Martha was distracted with much serving, yet serving in itself is not a bad thing is it? There is a time and a place for it. There is also a time and a place for worship and coming into in the presence of God and we have to know the difference! We can not get distracted doing God’s work and miss God in the process. You can be so busy serving God that you have forgotten why you are doing it. Martha was like this. She was always busy serving; she was always distracted with serving. If you read through the Gospels you will see this throughout every accounting of her. However when it came time for the most important thing she was so caught up with serving that she didn’t allow time for the most important thing did she. Mary chose the best thing; she sat at Jesus feet and listened to His words. Jesus said Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” This was her choice; she had to choose to spend time at Jesus feet, Martha on the other hand chose to serve. There is a time and a place for service but don’t let it become a distraction as Martha did.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ?
If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (Jn.6:37),

So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” (Ro.10:9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!
I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!
Glory to God!!!! Amen.

I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God’s call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979. The Lord has called me to teach. My desire is to help all that are seeking to come into a deeper understanding of what God has done for us through Christ Jesus and I have started a web site for this purpose called The Olive Branch; Please visit us for more free studies and resources to help you on your journey.

Israeli Jews could Learn from Christian Zionists

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

For the first time in 100 generations Jews have their own turf and are calling the tune on it. The last thing they need is half ***** Christians telling them what to do.

Thanks in large part to God working in and through and for “Christian Zionists” who recognized the biblical necessity of the restoration of Jews before the majority of Jews did. You reveal your woeful ignorance of influential Christian movers and shakers that resulted in the Jews’ return and military training in Eretz Yisrael from Orde Wingate to the gentleman described below – all of whom you owe an apology. Not to mention all those strong supporters who stand with Israel and call upon our American officials to stop funding the “Palestinians,” stop pressuring Israel to surrender holy land, etc. Perhaps it’s past time to let the Jews go and suffer the consequences of their sins and no longer stand in the gap for them?

I guess Christians are an easy target when what they say is biblical and most Jews are secular with traditional trappings. God is not fooled. The plain truth remains the plain truth, even if God has to deliver it to Israelis (who don’t want to be Jews – cutting themselves off from their Hebrew roots and biblical responsibilities) through Christian servants who are in the same holy spirit as those who were good enough to save Jews who didn’t take Hitler or Jabotinsky’s warnings seriously and in the same holy spirit that the Gentile King Cyrus was moved by to encourage Jews to leave their exile and return to Zion and build the Temple. I’m sure some smug, assimilated Jews didn’t appreciate his non-Jewish advice, while others humbly recognized it as inspired by our Great Creator God.

“One of the influential British social reformers to be influenced by premillennial theology was Lord Shaftesbury, a conservative evangelical Christian who was intimately linked to leading members of the British Parliament. In 1839, Shaftesbury published an essay in the distinguished literary journal the Quarterly Review, titled “The State and Restoration of the Jews,” where he argued: “(T)he Jews must be encouraged to return (to Palestine) in yet greater numbers and become once more the husbandman of Judea and Galilee.” Writing 57 years BEFORE Zionist thinkers Max Nordau, Israel Zangwill and Theodor Herzl popularized the phrase, Shaftesbury called the Jews “a people with no country for a country with no people.” The saying was curiously similar to that of the early Zionists, who described Palestine as “a land of no people for a people with no land.” Gradually, Shaftesbury’s views gained acceptance among British journalists, clergy and politicians.” – excerpt from Christian Zionism.

I am a Jew, not a Christian, and I am here back in my land.

If you call yourself a Jew, and you’re living in the Jewish homeland as designated by the Bible, why do you refuse as a Jew to do what that same Bible requires to defend and protect it from sworn enemies? Utterly defeat and/or drive them out, as Meir Kahane correctly called for and live as a Jew – not just an Israeli – in Eretz Yisrael.

I am not ready to butcher them and I am not yet ready to push them into Jordan or the sea to satisfy you.

It’s not about me, it’s about national defense and security. Why are you in denial? Even though you’re not ready to do whatever is necessary to uproot the evil from Israel, Hamas, Fatah, the PLO – all of those Nazi-Muslim organizations of death and destruction – are more than willing to butcher Jews and push them into the sea to satisfy themselves.

You’ve already lost the psychological war because they’re prepared to fight you to the finish, and you’re not prepared to simply defend yourself and REMOVE THE THREAT once and for all. Instead you aid and abet them by supporting the transfer of Jews, making biblical areas Judenrein, and they still hate you and they still have their evil eye on Jerusalem.

Israel has the military power, but lacks the will, suffering from the curse for disobedience where God says He will break the pride of your power: a broken will. http://ezinearticles.com/?id=157698“>Kadima represents such a defeatist attitude and disastrous direction. You don’t want war and you’ve still got it. Instead of using your God-given power to WIN THE WAR – you choose to continue to engage in a war of attrition that continues to erode the Jewish homeland and undermine Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem.

The [Western] Wall gives me all the spiritual comfort I need.

And many Jews were content with their ghettos in Europe, and jaded Jews are content with their wall of destruction and tears, defeatism, rather than rise up and make aliyah to where the God of Jacob commands rather than the Turks (who designated the wailing wall for Jews and the Temple Mount for Muslims). If you want to submit to Gentile decrees rather than biblical commands, all of Jerusalem will soon be under EU occupation and you’ll get what you’re content with and learn to hate and loathe it as you should.

If the day comes that I can pray on the mount it will not have been a gun that cleared the mosque, I can assure you.

You can’t assure me of anything, as you’re a mere mortal and can’t bring anything to pass of such great significance. Do you somehow believe the Nazi-Muslims are just going to invite Jews to return to their alleged most holy site that they’ve permitted to get trampled by Gentile foxes who bark at Jews and Israelis? Israelis cannot say “The Temple Mount is in our hands.” But your lying “peace partners” mock you and defame the Holy Name by occupying it with their foreign mosques.

Or do you think an earthquake will take out the militant mosques, symbols of foreign rule? If the Israelis fail to do what God requires of them – liberate the Temple Mount and build the Temple – God could send an earthquake with deaths that could have been avoided, as I mention within Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall.

Have you forgotten it is by the grace of God and your guns that have cleared the way for you to remain in the Land this long? Ever hear of praise God and pass the ammo? God helps those who help themselves.

Promotional Videos Can Be a Great Benefit to a Businesses Income

Friday, February 27th, 2009

You probably already know how useful circulating your businesses short format professional video is. For a firm’s manager, online video is a creditable source that can easily capture your potential clients’ attention & significantly increase the amount of traffic to your firm’s website. Web video clips are very good in holding the target consumers’ short attention. Furthermore, if codes are adopted & online video sharing is supported, online video clips can be a magnificent way to get one-way external links. & thus positively affect your firms position on the search engines.

In fact, promotional videos have turned out to be a superb tool for business or self promotion. The following are a couple tips to distributing your own short format videos.

Firstly, you can post your promotional videos on your own company site; although this would require you to find your own video hosting arrangements. Ask your web hosting solutions contractor if video downloading or video streaming functions are supported. Are you looking to utilise online video as part of your marketing mix? If so, then Vidify has the video productions services your want.

Video downloading is where your company visitors are required to download your short format promotional video to their computer hard disk. They need to save the promotional video to their own PC before they can play it using their workstations video player or a downloadable video player application. There are several video downloading service merchants that cost nothing. There’s also a progressive downloading mechanism where your web visitors can play the short format professional videos at the same time as downloading them.

While video streaming on the other hand utterly does away with the need to download the online video clips and lets instant playback so it offers the most convenience to your web visitors. For sure, getting a video hosting supplier that supports video streaming can cost you a pretty penny.

And finally, the more popular way to distribute professional videos is posting your sites to video distribution web sites which have their own video hosting platform. These websites cost you nothing to log on and will from time to time pay you to post video content. What’s more, also have an immense audience base and reach; for example, YouTube acquires about seventeen million Internet visitors each & every month.

Scientific Atheism

Friday, February 27th, 2009

As a scientific blogger, the one thing I hate is when people take scientific findings and then distort them to try and prove and disprove things that they, in fact, do not prove or disprove.

It is painful when religious folks do it. It is much, much worse when scientists do it.

Lets take Atheism, for example. First of all, I respect atheism as much as I respect other types of belief. It takes a certain amount of courage to believe in something like atheism, especially since it basically states that there is no God, there is no soul, and life has no purpose.

However, I have seen people who have tried to use science to “prove” atheism, and this is just as wrong as using science to “prove” a young earth, or to “prove” intelligent design. Its worse, actually, bacause the scientific atheists are very familiar with scientific processes, and they should know better.

Lets start with the fundamentals of scientific athiesm. Although some people may contest these statements; from a scientific viewpoint they are quite valid, so we will take them at face value for the sake of our argument.

1. There is no evidence that God exists.

2. The universe appears to function just fine without a God running it.

From these two statements, which we will take as Truth, the scientific atheist concludes that God does not exist. From a purely logical standpoint, we can see the fallacy of this belief. From a scientific standpoint, this is lazy intellectualism. Lets take these things one at a time:

1. There is no evidence that God exists. I always like to fall back on String Theory to debate this one. String Theory is widely accpeted by many in the physics community. String theory explains much about the universe, the mathematics are elegant, and it provides a road map to the Holy Grail of physics: A Grand Unified Theory. The downside? There is absolutely no evidence that strings exist. Not only have we never seen one, there is no existing theory that explains how it would even be possible to see one.

2. The universe appears to function just fine without a God running it. Lets go back to physics again. Everyone has heard of Protons and Neutrons. Have you ever heard of a Lambda particle, or an Omega particle? They are hadrons, like protons and neutrons, only they are heavier. They are also utterly unnecessary for the functioning of the universe. In fact, when these heavier hadrons were first discovered, one scientist who witnessed this stream of irrelevant particles pop out of their particle accelerator exclaimed “Who ordered THAT!?”

So, if its possible for 1) something to exist that we don’t have evidence for and 2) something to exist that is scientifically unnecessary, is it possible for something to exist that we don’t have evidence for AND is scientifically unnecessary?

The answer is, from a completely scientific, rational standpoint: absolutely! There is NO other answer that is intellectually honest. And yet, the scientific athiest continues to argue the opposite, and worse, claims that his beliefs are supported by scientific evidence.

I’ve always felt that the only reasonable position for a scientist to take is that of an open-minded agnostic. However, faith appears to be a fundamental characteristic of human psychology (I offer this as opinion, not as Truth), whether it is faith in God, or faith in an absence of God. Therefore, I will say to you atheists what I say to the religious: Believe what you want. But don’t try to drag science into it.

What’s IN and OUT For The Information Sales Industry In 2001

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

OUT – Giving away all of your valuable content.

IN – Selling it!

I’ve been selling information online for 4+ years now. Manuals, e-books, special reports, etc. That’s how I make my living. (And “no” I’m not telling you this to brag, or make my operation seem larger than life.)

I’m telling you so that you’ll know that it can be done in a consistent and steady manner. So that those of you who constantly give your information away will understand that you don’t have to.

If your information is good… tried and trusted by readers… then I advise you to build up the courage this year to sell it.

Start with a 15-20 page special report for $10-$30, if you don’t want to open the floodgates with anything big. (C’mon, you can write a 20-page special report in less than a week!) Take $100, secure a new domain, and pay for a few megs of Web site space for a couple of months. Promote the heck out of your new report.

Seeing something small sell will give you the kick in the butt you’ll need to create and promote other infoproducts. The point is you gotta start somewhere.

OUT – Publishing your own free e-zine.

IN – Syndicating your content.

You want the truth? Okay I’m gonna give you the truth. There are too many e-zines in existence, ESPECIALLY in the business industry.

Yes… in the past I recommended that you start your own e-zine for promotional purposes. But after looking at how jam-packed the market is getting, I’m singing another song.

The truth is you’ll probably receive more attention getting your articles seen in already established and well known e-zines, than you will starting your own publication. (Unless you’re already a ‘famous’ personality who has a following.)

Content syndication – (allowing other Web sites and e-zines to feature your articles) – gives you the power to be in several places at once. Plus syndicating your content means you don’t have to worry about the hassles of running your own e-zine.

Where can you syndicate your content? Check out iSyndicate , and The Syndicator
.

OUT – PDF.

IN – Wireless content.

Okay Adobe Acrobat isn’t entirely ‘out.’ But there is something that you forward thinkers may want to keep an eye on… the advent of wireless content.

I was just over in France where it seems like everybody has a digital telephone. I’ve heard that in China not having a cell phone is like not wearing underwear.

And they don’t just use them to talk. People are actually using them to access information on the Net.

Granted I don’t think I’d want to read a novel on my cell phone. However certain types of content, like news or specialized data, is currently being accessed by people with digital telephones and Palm Pilots.

Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines… the next revolution in digital information delivery is about to begin!

OUT – Selling your information retail.

IN – Selling your information wholesale.

This one’s not completely out the door just yet. But again if you’re a forward thinker who wants to stay two steps ahead of the competition, you’ll give this ‘IN’ some serious thought.

The formula is very simple, and you’ve probably heard it before. Instead of promoting your infoproduct directly to the consumer, you sell the reprint rights to a small number of people.

They pay you $1,000+ for the privilege, plus they promote the product for you. You get major money up front and your name is still being circulated in a positive manner.

I tried this one in 2000 and quickly found out that you can make just as much money – (if not more) – selling wholesale as you can in the retail arena.

Granted, you could lose some profits in the long run. But if you’re in the game to make a quick $50,000-$100,000, this technique has proven to be a winner for those authors who have the guts to give it a go.

OUT – Self-publishers who look and act like they don’t care about their Web presence.

IN – Self-publishers who look and act professional.

If I were a reader looking for a good e-book, there would be several sites that I would have no other choice but to pass. As a somewhat savvy onliner, I have standards.

I never buy from online shops that don’t have their own domains. Perhaps I’m just a snobby curmudgeon, but there’s something really amateurish about hosting a business Web site in a freebie online community.

I never buy e-books that have ugly covers. I tell my clients that if they can’t afford to hire an e-book cover designer for $100-$200, then they shouldn’t have a cover at all. In my opinion, an ugly cover makes the book look 100 times worse than no cover!

On the other hand, I do buy e-books that are described well on the Web site, sometimes with a table of contents, or description of each chapter. I do buy e-books from Web sites that have clean designs, and secure credit card forms.

And if these things make a difference to me, one can only imagine how other potential readers feel when they compare a cruddy self-published authors site, to that of a big publishing house.

If you want your work to be taken seriously… if you want people to pull out their credit cards and give you a piece of the pie, then show your prospects that you mean business.

Make sure your site design is clean, have a secure order form, shell out a couple of dollars to have a great looking cover. The investment you make in your business is almost always rewarded with greater sales.

8-Reasons All Non-Profits Need A Web Site

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

A nonprofit organization can take advantage of the Internet for at least eight purposes:

  • publicity

  • public education

  • fundraising

  • volunteer recruitment

  • service delivery

  • advocacy

  • research

  • communication

Let us look at brief examples of each of these uses in turn.

Publicity

Good sites gain attention. Attention or awareness is exactly what all non-profits need… it accelerates fund-raising efforts, and enhances all the following essential needs:

Public Education

There’s a fine line between grabbing the public’s attention and educating the public about an important social problem or cause.

Whatever the mission statement of your non-profit organization is, it needs to be presented with clarity to the various “publics” that all non-profits must influence if they are to be successful.

All organizations have several different “publics” which they must influence in a positive way in order to achieve their organizational goals.

Some of these “publics” are:

  • centers of influence

  • community organizations

  • government officials and departments

  • other non-profits

  • volunteers

  • donors

  • etc. etc.

A properly constructed and strategized web site can reach all of these “publics” cost effectively and with immediate “calls-to-action.

Fundraising

Large sums of money are now changing hands over the Internet. One early barrier to online fund raising was the perceived insecurity surrounding online financial transactions. With dramatic improvements in online secure data transmission, this is no longer an issue.

Now there are multiple ways for donors to make direct donations without worrying. Several companies offer secure methods for performing online financial transactions.

PayPal and Amazon now provide free mechanisms for the proper transmission of credit card donations to non-profits… eliminating the need for the non-profit to own and manage their own credit card merchant account… and saving the organization on transaction fees.

Another advantage of online credit card donations is that they are usually for larger amounts… and given more often during the year.

The biggest single benefit of a well crafted non-profit web site is the fact that you are now opening up the entire online world… almost a billion users (and growing) worldwide… to your organizations needs and goals. It is not unusual for organizations to recieve substantial donations from complete strangers living in foreign countries. These folks will have found you on the world-wide-web, feel an affinity to your goals… and donate money using your online form and their credit card.

Building a donor database allows the organization to “go back to the well” seeking additional donations for specific projects, needs, or general support.

Volunteer Recruitment

Volunteer recruitment and management is a well developed and proven use of the Internet. The Internet allows for a new and powerful way for people to support nonprofits by becoming virtual volunteers. Virtual volunteers have more control over their time and the ease of working from home because they take advantage of the convenience of online communication. All the factors that motivated volunteers face-to-face still operate forcefully over the Internet. A spirit of community and personal relationships thrive abundantly in cyberspace. Of course, many nonprofits have effectively used their web presence for recruiting volunteers that show up on their premises. Recognizing volunteers… a vital component of developing a strong volunteer is made simple and easy through a web site.

Service Delivery

Our economy is increasingly based on the timely exchange of information, All successful non-profits must deliver the right information to the right person, at the right time.

A web site is a powerful way to deliver services for those organizations in the business of providing people with information. Since this includes almost all non-profits, the need and benefits of a website accessable 24-hours a day, seven days a week, become obvious.

Advocacy

To mobilize people around an issue, an organization must get the word out quickly and provide people with convenient tools for responding. Because it’s so easy to update a web site and have the vital details available instantaneously, the web is a perfect way to encourage people to act on issues that greatly concern them. Timely action alerts can be sent via email to various organization maintained data bases …instantly. It’s easy to respond to a call for action when one can email one’s legislative representatives or link to other volunteer bulletin boards on the Internet. Cross linking with other like-minded organizations provides a “synergy of action” that would be impossible with a well crafted web presence.

Research

Research may take many forms. An organization may wish to keep up with legal, political, scientific or other mission related developments. Alternatively, it may wish to learn about grant getting opportunities.

Two excellent starting points for almost any kind of searching are Google and Yahoo. Probably the best directory devoted entirely to nonprofit organizations on the web is the Action Without Border’s web site. This includes a page of foundations and links offering grant opportunities. Cross linking with these organizations provides a wonderful networking opportunity and usually leads to additional opportunities for all the linked organizations.

Communication

It would be hard to overemphasize the advantages, cost savings, or numerous virtues of email. Email offers the best of the phone and the mail. It is as fast and as reliable as the phone, while compensating for the frailties of human memory by preserving a written record, as does the mail. Further, email allows for asynchronous communication, meaning that one can read one’s email on one’s own time, rather than having to play telephone tag. Of course, it also encourages clarity of expression by remaining a form of *written* communication.

Web sites facilitate email correspondence when they make publicly available the email addresses of organization staff. Sites can offer options which make sending a message as convenient as filling out a form. They can also invoke an email mailer on many browsers when the visitor to a site clicks on the right button.

If you are worried about getting too much email, more than you have time to answer, consider discarding any mail delivered by the US Postal Service and using the time you save to answer the few email messages you are lucky enough to receive. They will likely be more valuable, more interesting and you will be able to respond to them more quickly with better results than most of your incoming “snail mail”. :-)

In summation… the strong benefits enjoyed by all non-profit organizations, from the development of a custom website, are many and varied. A strong web presence provides a solid economic basis for additional revenues (donations), cost savings, and enhanced services to members, volunteers, and the public at large. Since most non-profits are understaffed… the dramatic labor savings and management efficiencies gained with a comprehensive web site can mean the difference between success or failure… growth or survival!

Zimmer Durom Hip Recall Not Acceptable for Hip Replacement Patients

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Alot of people who had zimmer hip replacements used in their hip replacement surgical processes are witnessing that there are complications that far surpass the typical expectations for recuperation. These people are experiencing a lot of extra pain sensation for lengthier periods of time, looking forward to revision operations and magnified medical costs, and losing revenue by not physically being able to work at their regular occupations. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is claiming that that their hip replacement implant is not possibly imperfect and say it is not their fault for the faililng hip implants, some implant recipients are filing cases against them and taking settlements.

During the month of October, 2008 Zimmer announced that it had set-aside $47.5 million to pay for lawsuits filed against them. Many doctors arent so sure that the hip implant is as good as the company says it is. As A Matter Of Fact, when Zimmer tendered online coaching to MD’s in order to teach them what was supposedly more accurate techniques for performing the implant surgical procedure, half of the physicians declined to take part. Thus, the entire situation proceeds to be disagreeable for everyone attached, but none more than the hundreds of implant recipients who are expecting revision operation due to problems with their implant coming loose in the socket.

These hurt individuals definitely deserve some help and compensation which is the main reason product liability attorneys are telling them to start the lawsuit process. zimmer replacement has been paying out of court for some of these claims. However, even if the settlement they are being offered sounds like a fair amount, in most cases implant recipients are resolving too fast and with no allowance being made for on-going troubles if it happens again. If they don’t hold off and wait, to find out what cases are actually going to be worth, people might find themselves ending up paying alot more money from their own pocket when further issues or pain return.

If your orthopedic MD tells you that youre going to need revision surgery to repair your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, get in touch with an lawyer immediately.

Once your attorney realizes that you have a good case, be ready to wait in order to get the best settlement that your attorney can get you. Pay close attention to the wisdom and advice that your attorney provides for you and do not rush the process including the restitution. This is the time to be patient and ensure the largest amount of money available to you.

There are many different types of deductions available and if you can save a few dollars, then why not? Below is a list of general deductions that may be available to you. Check with your insurer to see if you’re eligible.

Individual-Associated Price Reductions

Person-related discounts are ones that depend on the driver’s own personal situation, status and driving history.

  • Going to Traffic School If by any chance you have been recently ticketed, you may attend traffic school either online or through a traditional setting to have your ticket expunged from your driving history. Indirectly, this will have an effect of lowering your monthly insurance premiums
  • Good Student Discounts. You may also take into consideration your childs grades to get automobile insurance price reductions. If youre insuring your child who drives and he satisfies the grade requirements of the insurance company, you may ultimately receive price reductions as well.
  • Belong to a Professional Organization. Many times, if you belong to a trade or professional organization, you’ll be entitled to receive additional price reductions on your automobile insurance. This can include professions such as registered nurses, pharmacists, scientists, etc.
  • Senior Citizen Discount. If youre a mature driver, aged 55 or over and have completed a Defensive Driving course being offered by the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state, then you may qualify for a discount.
  • Loyalty Credits. If you’ve been a loyal, solid, long-standing customer of your insurance company, they may reward your patronage with price reductions too.

    1. Air Bags. They present an added safety feature to your car and insurance underwriters love these.
    2. Anti-Lock Brakes System (ABS). Many automobiles on the road today are equipped with ABS. Many insurers offer price reductions if your car is equipped with these types of brakes and many states even require the insurance underwriter to do so.
    3. Anti-Theft Devices. Installation of anti-theft devices like LowJack is a way to get lower auto insurance rates. There may be an added bonus if the alarm that you installed automatically turns itself on when you turn the car’s engine off.
