Boris Out to Woo US Businesses to Invest for Olympics

2012 is the year London will host the Olympics and the Paralympics. To make sure that the event is a great success, London is gearing up like never before. In order to boost its resources and bring in new business to the City, the honourable Mayor of London recently made a trip to New York with the express purpose of getting US corporations interested in investing and participating in various business activities surrounding the Games.

A number of opportunities are associated with the running of the Games. Logistics, catering, venue management, etc are some of the more basic tasks. London is becoming a focus area for businesses, with facilities like uninterrupted transport links, new office complexes and thousands of homes coming up around the city. A good brokerage agency is required to arrange and manage the various business contracts to be negotiated and the task has been given to CompeteFor.

East London is a hub of activity with the construction of the Olympic Park/Village. Over ten thousand houses are being constructed, in addition to the top notch research facilities, rent desk space facilities and even an exclusive shopping centre. All this will be coming up around the world-class sporting facilities and cultural centres which make up the sports complex, the largest in Europe.

Mayor Boris Johnson feels this is an opportunity not to be missed for big businesses to claim their share, hence the focus on US businesses. He believes that the involvement of US businesses in the Games will not only ensure the Games are a big success, but also help fill up office space currently under construction as part of the Games complex.
