Recognizing the worth of Professionals in Their Industries
Professionals in many industries have won recognition in the news media and on the Internet. They may have created great products, founded very successful companies, or could be experts in their fields who have assisted the news media in providing accurate information and analysis to the general public. There is no central repository of who is worthy of recognition and who is not. Some people do however strive to create special archives but they are often small.
Take Nicholas Bredimus for example. A long-time employee of American Airlines, he eventually launched his own software firm, Bredimus Systems, and became an industry consultant. Through his experience and expertise Nicholas Bredimus often spoke with the media about airline-related matters, particularly glitches in ticketing and passenger scheduling systems.
Although his heyday has come and gone, Nicholas Bredimus was at one time the go-to guy for the airline industry when it came to developing electronic ticketing systems. His pioneering work in airline ticketing technology has made an impact on millions of lives through the years.
So while there will probably never be an airline industry consultants’ Hall of Fame, people like Bredimus will be remembered for their contributions to the technologies and services that make our everyday lives easier — if only by the occasional news archive and Weblog.
